Joost

Joost

I didn’t know what Joost was so, like all people who are not completely lazy, I did a Google search and found the official website of this lovely word and got the answer to my question:

Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet. With Joost, you get all the things you love about TV, including a high-quality full-screen picture, hundreds of full-length shows and easy channel-flipping.

Awesome. So digging around some more, I soon realised that this will be a huge competitor to YouTube. With the right marketing ‘young’ fan base from the get-go, this could really take off. Not to mention it has instant messaging, it’s free and you can watch whatever you want, whenever you want as many times as you want. Could it be any better?

Well, yes, and that’s why they are in the process of making it possible for people to make their own add-ons for the program. Joost is a program you download and install and then you can simply watch TV. At the moment, Joost is in Beta which means it’s not fully complete and they’re just testing it. The only way to download and use Joost at the moment, is to get an invite from an exisiting user.

In future, maybe there will be an HDJoost or Joost HD. I’m sure there will be as bandwidth demand increases over the next few years, and depending upon the success of Joost. Although, I bet a Joost HD would not be free from the get-go.

So, get emailing everybody and see who’s secretly signed up. Oh, and send me an invite too. Muchas gracias! Check out the link for more information:
