Description
BRAVIA is fast becoming synonymous with a quality of colour and a clarity of detail that no comparable LCD TV can match - a picture so good it enhances the viewing experience, no matter what you like to watch. The new 2006 S-Series and V-Series BRAVIA raise the bar even further, by combining the BRAVIA ENGINE and a unique next generation S-PVA panel. In addition to this the results produced with the introduction of Live Colour Creation to the V-Series BRAVIA are quite simply the best yet.

The Sony Bravia is a great TV with a very clear display and (for an LCD) good contrast. However the EPG let its down.
I have a 2 year old Sony freeview CRT television and a very old Tomson set top box, and the EPG shows both the program times and details of the program highlighted on the same screen. Pressing the ok key on the remote control then tunes into that program.
On the new Bravia you get the program times, BUT you don’t get the details on the same screen as you do on the old Sony. You have to hit the ok button on the remote before you get the details of the program. If you want the details of more that one channels you have to keep going back to the EPG, selecting the program and hitting ok to get the details. It just appears a step backwards to me.
It’s not the end of the world, but just an annoyance if you wish to browse details of the programs on the different channels.
Overall it’s a good TV, but if you can look at the EPG and compare with different televisions.
TV arrived 2 days after ordering using the 1st Class option. Installed in minutes and the picture sorted in about half an hour of twiddling (no need for manual). Sound is great - with it’s pseudo surround it really does seem to come from outside the box at times (and I’m used to decent home cinema set-up in main room) and picture is really excellent.
Usual great Sony build quality. All in all a quality product and quality prices and delivery from Amazon too
The TV arrived less than 48 hours after the order was placed (with Amazon) which was a great start!
In no time at all it was unwrapped, plugged in and in operation. It looks great on or off but is more entertaining when on. Picture (after some tinkering with the settings)is brilliant with no glare or reflections. Good colour, good brightnes, good contrast. Sound is good too.
This TV is not the cheapest on the market but has good functionality, is easy to use and I am more than happy with my choice.
Having suffered with an old style square tubed tv, we noted the TV adverts and viewed the set in a local dealer. The first impression in comparison to others was its neat style, and the total lack of prippery at the front. Another plus point is the lack of smooth shiny areas around the edges which reflect unwanted and distracting light back towards the viewer.
The picture and sound quality are just light years ahead of anything previously owned by us and has added a new dimension to our TV enjoyment. Linked to satellite digital signal gives as good as it can be until we get High Definition next year. The manual is simple enough to set everything up first time around, and the on-screen menus clear and easy to use.
The set is so impressive that parents have just yesterday bought the same model and are both equally pleased with their purchase. We both now look forward to setting up with a Sony DVD recorder to match them.
